Survey preserves historic site for future generations

MCP Environmental provided specialist asbestos consultancy, including survey and laboratory sampling to facilitate essential maintenance works to multiple retail premises situated among Chester Rows.

Chester’s main shopping area consist of a series of half-timbered galleries dating back to medieval times and is a popular tourist destination and shopping area.

Chester Row

MCP asbestos surveyors conducted a survey to scrutinise the fabric of the buildings external elements, whilst also being mindful of the listed status of the building. Operatives worked at height on scaffolding over 26ft above shoppers and the busy shopping precinct below.

The complex site required the surveying to be conducted sensitively around the local shops, and tourists who flock to the area to admire the unique architecture and absorb the special shopping experience.
