MCP Environmental were appointed by Leeds City Council to provide specialist asbestos removal services for Rawdon Crematorium.
Rawdon Crematorium is located in landscaped peaceful surroundings approximately 7 miles from Leeds city centre.
Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) were identified and required licensed removal from an outbuilding within the grounds.
Due to the sensitive nature of the crematorium MCP operatives worked with dignity and respect at all times. Operations were scheduled around the crematorium opening hours to ensure disruption was minimised for visitors.
All works were undertaken in strict accordance with HSG247, CAR2012 including ACOP L143. All waste was disposed of utilising MCPs licensed hazardous waste carrier vehicles for safe and responsible disposal.
Asbestos Removals Contracts Manager, Mick Turner said: “The operation was complex with the structural integrity of the roof requiring staged clearance due to the fragile nature of the support structure.”
