Walking Home for Christmas

MCP Environmental Chairman, Mitchell Smith walked 25 miles to raise funds for the charity Walking with the Wounded.

The route took in Corbridge Northumberland along the Hadrians wall path and the Tyne Valley to Newcastle.

Walking Home for Christmas

Every year approximately 15,000 personnel leave the armed forces having selflessly served their country.

Many transition into civilian life easily but for a minority they require additional support. Walking with the Wounded supports them through:

  • Securing Employment for our wounded
  • Mental Health Support
  • Keeping Veterans out of custody

Mitchell completed the walk in a very respectable 5 hours, raising over £400 for the charity.

Walking for the Wounded

Mitchell will walk with his close friend and ex-soldier to raise money for this worthy cause.

Mitchell Smith said: “The transition from military to civilian life can take some adjustment. I have heard moving tales of camaraderie and wanted to support these proud men and women.”
