MCP Environmental recently completed an extensive Asbestos Refurbishment Survey for Leeds City Council at Cottingley Tower and Cottingley Heights high rise towers.
The 25 storey towers dominate the South Leeds skyline and are home to over 500 residents in 300 flats. The refurbishment survey included a comprehensive inspection of the properties including laboratory sampling to identify for the presence of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) common in building materials of the time including; thermoplastic floor tiles, Textured ceiling coatings (Artex) Asbestos Insulation Board (AIB) cement door headers and cement soil pipes.
MCP continue to support Leeds City Council on their framework with asbestos surveying and removals at their 52,000 Social Housing properties. MCP liaise with tenants through a pro-active customer service approach including phone calls, text messaging and letters and out of office hours surveys as required to reduce missed appointments and maintain survey targets.
